New lockdown restrictions have been rolled out in Liverpool, Warrington, Hartlepool and Middlesbrough in a bid to curb the spread of coronavirus.
The new restrictions, which means more than a third of the UK is under heightened lockdown rules, makes it illegal for households to mix indoors.
It comes as it was reported a mass coronavirus vaccine rollout in the UK could be just three months away, with every adult potentially receiving a dose by Easter.
Meanwhile, a further 42 people have died in hospitals in England after contracting coronavirus. Patients were aged between 44 and 100 years old, and three had no underlying health conditions, NHS England said.
