UK coronavirus LIVE: Death toll rises by 18 as holidaymakers in Croatia scramble back to beat quarantine

Holidaymakers have scrambled back to the UK from Croatia to avoid a two-week quarantine.

Croatia, as well as Austria and Trinidad and Tobago, are now on the UK's "red list" after a spike in coronavirus cases.

It comes as tougher measures for areas of Greater Manchester and Lancashire came into force, with people advised not to socialise with anyone outside their household, and funerals and weddings limited to 20 people.

Meanwhile, the number of people who have died in the UK after testing positive for coronavirus jumped by 18.
