NHS leaders said there will be a "significant reduction" in the weekly vaccine supply available from the week beginning March 29.
Speaking at a Downing Street press briefing, Health Secretary Matt Hancock played down the delay saying “the supply is always lumpy”.
Earlier, an expert from the UK’s vaccination committee said Europe’s blood clot fears over the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine are “overblown”.
Meanwhile, Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab accused the EU of "brinkmanship" and warned it not to block the export of coronavirus vaccines after a threat from European Union chief Ursula von der Leyen.
