The UK Government has urged the public to abide by coronavirus lockdown rules with the measure set to be tested again this weekend.

Speaking at the daily Covid-19 Downing Street press conference, Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said the more Brits adhere to social distancing measures, the sooner decisions can be made to lift them.

It comes as coronavirus testing slots were booked up within hours after the Government launched its website for millions of key workers to apply for checks.

Meanwhile, the number of people who have died in UK hospitals after being diagnosed with the virus reached more than 19,506.
