UK coronavirus death toll rises to 465 - including 47-year-old

The number of people who have died from coronavirus in the UK has risen to 465.

The PA news agency said that a further 28 people – aged between 47 and 93 – have died after testing positive for coronavirus in England.

It comes as the death toll from Covid-19 rose to seven in Northern Ireland and Scotland's death toll hit 22.

Meanwhile, there were 150 new positive cases of the viruses in Wales, with five further deaths reported bringing its total to 22.

NHS England said that the deaths included a 47-year-old who did not have an underlying health condition.

The others who died, including one person aged 93, did have underlying health conditions. Their families have been informed.

The number of new cases in the UK has not yet been confirmed by Public Health England on Wednesday.

The 28 people whose deaths after testing positive for coronavirus were announced on Wednesday were at the following trusts:

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust: 1

Royal Free London NHS Trust: 2

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust: 4

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust: 1

Pennine Acute Trust: 2

Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust: 2

Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust Hospital: 2

West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust: 1
