The number of people who have died in the UK after testing positive for coronavirus has passed 43,500, after an additional 100 deaths were recorded.
The total number now stands at 43,514.
The figure relates to the number of people who have died in hospitals, care homes, the wider community and other settings.
The Government figures do not include all deaths involving Covid-19 across the UK, which are thought to have passed 54,000.
The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) also said in the 24-hour period up to 9am on Saturday, 155,359 tests were carried out or dispatched, with 890 positive results.
Overall, a total of 9,067,577 tests have been carried out and 310,250 cases have been confirmed positive.
The figure for the number of people tested has been “temporarily paused to ensure consistent reporting” across all methods of testing.
The DHSC numbers are released each day and are calculated differently to the statistics from each devolved nation.
The latest official count came as Scotland marked another significant landmark in its battle to tackle the outbreak.
For a second day in a row, the country saw no new deaths among people who have tested positive for the virus.
On Friday, Nicola Sturgeon said the fact no deaths were recorded on a weekday was significant, as registration figures tend to be artificially low at weekends.
After Saturday's figures were released, the Scottish First Minister said her country was "beating the virus".
She tweeted: “Yesterday was the second weekday in a row with no Covid deaths registered in Scotland.
“Right now, Scotland is beating this virus – but only through our collective efforts. So we must keep at it. Covid will surge back if we let it. So please keep following the rules #StaySafe.”
