The death toll from coronavirus in the UK now stands at 30,076, Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick has said.
The figure is for all settings, meaning it includes deaths in care homes which have been included in daily updates only this week.
However, the number of deaths involving Covid-19 that have been registered across the UK currently stands at 32,898, according to the latest provisional figures from NHS England - which show 450 hospital patients died between 3 May and 5 May.
As of 9am on Wednesday, there had been 1,448,010 tests carried out in the UK, with 69,463 in the previous 24 hours.
The figure is below the 100,000 target for the fourth day.
Earlier today health authorities confirmed the death toll in the UK's hospitals had gone up to 25,214 after 449 more fatalities were reported.
England recorded 331 new deaths, Scotland had 83, Wales reported 21 and Northern Ireland 14.
On Sunday Boris Johnson will address on the next steps for ending lockdown. The Prime Minister indicated that some elements of the UK’s coronavirus lockdown could be eased next week, as he faced a grilling from Sir Keir Starmer in their first PMQs over “rising” deaths in care homes and the government’s initial abandonment of contact-tracing.
