UK bank holidays 2020: How many days do Brits get off this year and when are they?

Nothing hits the spot quite like a long weekend.

This year, most of our bank holiday plans were disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent lockdowns, with restrictions impeding people’s ability to do much with their well-earned time off.

But with lockdown rules being eased across the UK over the past few months and with further easing planned for local lockdowns, there's still hope for our 2020 bank holidays.

So whether you've got a staycation planned or are simply living for the weekend in your 9-5 and looking forward to packing up your kitchen-table desk for a few days, look no further: these are all the bank holidays remaining in 2020 for those living in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

2020 Bank and Public Holidays:​

St Andrew’s Day: Monday 30 November (Scotland only)

Christmas Day: Friday 25 December 

Boxing Day (substitute day): Monday 28 December

Rosh Hashanah: Friday 18 September

Yom Kippur: Sunday 27 September  

Daylight saving time ends: Sunday 25 October

Halloween: Saturday 31 October 

Guy Fawkes Night: Thursday 5 November

Diwali (TBC): Saturday 14 November

St Andrew’s Day: Monday 30 November
