Ugly scenes as UCD goalkeeper Conor Kearns angers Bohs fans after 1-0 win

UCD goalkeeper Conor Kearns angered Bohemians fans after celebrating the Students 1-0 win last night.

Kearns raised his hands in the air towards the visiting fans after the SSE Airtricity Premier Division tie at the UCD Bowl.

This prompted Bohs captain Derek Pender to confront the stopper before a melee between both sets of players took place.

Kearns had to wait to make his exit from the pitch as various objects were still thrown in his direction.

Then a supporter is seen trying to run towards Kearns only to be restrained by two stewards.

The game was won courtesy of a brilliant early strike from UCD's Yoyo Mahdy as the bottom side continued their revival in the top flight.

The striker hit a crisp right-foot shot into the top corner from some 25 yards for his fifth league strike of the season.

Kearns came to UCD’s rescue on 70 minutes when back-pedalling to tip over his crossbar after Boh's Danny Mandroiu worked space for a left-foot shot.

The Gypsies pressed to the death, their last chance came five minutes into added time when Darragh Leahy headed straight at Kearns.
