UGA vs Vanderbilt: Series history

On Saturday, the Georgia Bulldogs will kick off their 2019 campaign with a road game in Nashville against the Vanderbilt Commodores. In preparation for the game, let’s take a look at how the Bulldogs and Commodores have fared against one another historically.

Georgia and Vanderbilt have squared off 79 times in history with the first game occurring in 1893, and they’ve played each other annually since 1968. Georgia leads the all-time series 57-20-2. In recent decades, the Bulldogs’ success over the Commodores has been even more noteworthy. Georgia has won 18 of the past 21 games over Vanderbilt, with the only three losses coming in 2006, 2013, and 2016, all of which were by four points or less.

Last year when the teams played in Athens, Georgia got off to a sluggish start but eventually cruised to a 41-13 victory. They hope to see a similar result when they face the Commodores again on Saturday.
