The Georgia Bulldogs might as well have stayed in the locker room Saturday, as they fell 20-17 at home to South Carolina of all teams with a third-string quarterback.
Basically, everyone outside of Jake Camarda and the Georgia defense had a horrible day. And that’s stating it nicely. So before you go back to your regularly scheduled programming, we’re here to give out some grades.

Jake Camarda: A
Camarda had a great day in Athens, averaging 57.7 yards per punt, with a long of 66. The only reason he doesn’t get an A+ is due to the fact he booted a touchback that could have been downed inside the 10 if kicked a little better.
Still though, he had one helluva day compared to weeks past.
D’Andre Swift: B-
Swift did pretty well for the short amount of time he was in the game, with 113 yards and a touchdown. He never had a long breakaway or anything, but was one of few who deserved a decent grade for his play.
The Georgia Defense: B-
Georgia’s defense only gave up 7 points offensively, with field goals and a pick-six making up the rest of the Gamecocks’ points. However, the touchdown they did give up in the first half was absolutely brutal, as was not getting to the quarterbacks for any sacks all day or forcing any turnovers.
Something about those damn backup quarterbacks against the Dawgs.
Rodrigo Blankenship: C-
Blankenship may have choked the game-tying field goal in overtime, but he still went 2/2 on extra points with a 50-yard field goal on the day. The block was not his fault and he simply hooked the last try.
Still though, not your typical day from Hot Rod, though the loss should not be completely pinned on him. The Georgia offense blew this one, in addition to the coaches and their pathetic play-calling.
Jake Fromm: F
Fromm went 28/51 on the day with 3 interceptions. Though 2 of them were not completely his fault, he really struggled against the Gamecocks. I don’t know what in the world happened to Fromm today, but the combination of his poor play and the coaches’ poor play calling created a recipe for disaster.
This game is up there with 2017 Auburn and 2018 LSU for the title of Fromm’s worst as a Dawg.
Kirby Smart: F
Smart did not have his team ready to play today against an inferior opponent, which is extremely disappointing. I don’t care what the kickoff time is, Georgia should not be losing to South Carolina with the amount of talent it has on its roster. Not to mention the Gamecocks had to turn to a third-string quarterback in the middle of the game.
James Coley: F-
Is there such thing as an F-minus? Because that’s what James Coley deserves after Saturday. The highly anticipated Chaney replacement was supposed to get Georgia over its offensive hurdles, but has actually done the complete opposite. Now, sing with me… Run, run, pass… Run, run, pass… Run, run pass… I’d rather cut my grass…
Let’s see.. who else do we have? Ok, let’s rank each team’s overall performance.
Georgia: D
The only reason we don’t give the Dawgs an F is because they actually got this game to overtime after 297 tries at tying it up. South Carolina was begging Georgia to take this game, yet the Dawgs wouldn’t accept the gift and say thanks. However, the fact Georgia had a shot at winning this game in the second overtime is comical. We’ll give the Dawgs a D just for that.
South Carolina: C
Yes, South Carolina went into Athens and knocked off the No. 3 team in the nation, but it wasn’t exactly pretty. The Gamecocks struggled mightily on offense Saturday, just like Georgia. However, they were able to come away with the victory, thanks to the Bulldogs falling flat on their face about 83 times.
South Carolina fans may hate us for this grade, but anyone who watched that game without bias would say it was one of the worst football games they’ve ever watched. Just an absolute clown show in Athens, which the Gamecocks came out on top of.
Georgia dominated in time of possession, total yards, passing yards and rushing yards, but still pulled a clunker in the Classic City.
What an ugly, ugly football game. And to think, 13 of South Carolina’s 20 points came from defense and special teams, while only scoring 3 total points in the second half and overtime combined.
Yikes.
At the end of the day, Georgia should be absolutely embarrassed for losing this football game. As bad as the Dawgs played, they had so many chances to regroup and pull this one out of their ass. Yet somehow, in some way, the team with too many four and five-stars to count LOST TO SOUTH CAROLINA AT HOME.
Let’s see if Georgia can get it together for Kentucky next weekend and back on track for Atlanta. If the Dawgs have any hope of making the College Football Playoff, things are going to have to change. Like right now.
