UGA recruiting target Chantz Williams commits to Miami

Georgia Bulldogs recruiting target DE Chantz Williams announced his commitment to the University of Miami today on Twitter. The defensive end is extremely athletic and will be a force in the ACC. Williams currently plays at Oakleaf High School in Orange Park, Florida. The four-star recruit chose to commit on a special day:

Best of luck to Williams at Miami. Williams picked the Miami Hurricanes over Georgia, Florida, LSU, and Texas A&M. Williams’ commitment to Miami is a surprising move considering he announced his top three, without Miami, a month ago:

Williams later went on to update his list of schools in July, which did include both Miami and Texas A&M. Going from a top three to a top five is unusual, but not unheard of. Players often re-open their recruitment.
