UGA-Notre Dame predicted by ESPN FPI

This Saturday, the Georgia Bulldogs will take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in what many project to be one of the best games of the college football season. The game will take place in Athens and features the number three ranked Bulldogs and number seven ranked Irish.

According to ESPN’s football power index, which makes predictions based on a wide variety of advanced metrics, the Bulldogs have a 67.3% chance of winning on Saturday. Both teams are undefeated coming into the matchup after winning their first few games in blowout fashion.

Right now, Georgia is a two touchdown favorite over Notre Dame. As a double-digit favorite, Kirby Smart is 27-2 straight up during his tenure in Athens, with the two losses coming to Vanderbilt in 2016 and Texas in last year’s Sugar Bowl.

While predictions like this are somewhat meaningless, it’s good to know that the stats back Georgia in this one.
