UGA kickers on the verge of NCAA record

Georgia Bulldog kickers are on the verge of an NCAA record: the most consecutive PATs makes in a row. It’s an impressive accomplishment considering how many things can go wrong. A bad snap, bad hold, bad kick, or a blocked kick can ruin an extra point. There weren’t easy ones in the rain storm against Kentucky that’s for sure.

Current UGA kicker Rodrigo Blakenship has made his fair share of PATs throughout his career. He’s currently 184/184 in his career on extra points. Georgia is under 30 PATs away from the NCAA record:

The last NCAA record I recall Georgia setting was the single game completion percentage record. UGA QB Greyson Lambert completed 24/25 passes in a home game against South Carolina. Steve Spurrier retired shortly after the blowout defeat.

The most memorable extra point in this streak has to be Rodrigo’s narrow-make at home against Tennessee in 2018. It barely cleared the line of scrimmage, but sailed through the uprights. A point is a point. Georgia will look to continue the streak this Saturday when they face the Florida Gators.
