UGA freshman George Pickens breaks out in win over Missouri

After the Georgia Bulldogs suffered an injury to star wide receiver Lawrence Cager, Jake Fromm needed somebody to step up. Freshman WR George Pickens had his best game of the season with five catches for sixty-seven yards and and a pair of touchdowns.

Pickens additionally had a sixty-eight yard touchdown called back due to an illegal formation penalty. The highly-touted recruit and Jake Fromm improved their chemistry greatly against Missouri. Pickens showed off his jump-ball skills on a second half touchdown:

Jake Fromm must trust Pickens moving forward. Georgia has execute better in the passing game against Auburn.

Missouri’s defense deserves credit for making it tough on the Dawgs. The Tigers came into the game with the fourth best passing efficiency defense.

Fromm will continue to mesh with his receivers before next week at Auburn. Auburn has twenty-sixth rated passing efficiency on defense, so on paper Missouri’s defense is better. Playing at Jordan-Hare Stadium is no easy task for the Bulldogs, who have dropped their two toughest road games in each of the last two seasons: 2017 at Auburn and 2018 at LSU. Unfortunately, the Bulldogs will have a banged up offensive line going into the game.
