UGA football injury report for Week 2 matchup vs Murray State

Georgia is coming off a Week One road win against divisional rival Vanderbilt. The Bulldogs gave a solid showing, handling the Commodores 30-6 and now move on to their home opener vs Murray State.

Georgia did not come out of its win unscathed, though, as there are some players banged up following a physical SEC game.

Here’s a look at the Bulldog’s full injury report (so far) ahead of kickoff with the Racers.

Probable: OL Jamaree Salyer:

Salyer did not play in week one against the Commodores, as he is still nursing a foot injury.  Salyer is listed as probable for week two, but he is expected to suit up and play against Murray State.

Probable: LB Nakobe Dean:

Dean was out against Vandy with a sprained ankle, and it is still unknown whether he will suit up for Murray State this Saturday.

Questionable: DL Malik Herring:

“We talked about it after the game, if (Herring) continues to use practice and get better he’ll play,” Smart said.

Questionable: DL Julian Rochester:

Rochester is still dealing with an ACL tear that he suffered following last season.  Rochester is still not 100% and is listed as questionable for week two, but expect him to be out.

Questionable: DL Bill Norton:

Norton did not suit up against Vanderbilt, as he is still facing disciplinary action following an off-field incident.  It is not been announced if Norton will be eligible to play in week two.

Questionable: TE Ryland Goede:

Goede is still recovering from an off-season knee surgery and is expected to stay on the sidelines this Saturday.  Head coach Kirby Smart should look to keep him rested, especially with a 49 point spread.

Next: Doubtful and Out

Doubtful: OL Clay Webb:

Webb is suffering from an illness and is expected not to dress for Saturday’s matchup.

Doubtful: DL Tramel Walthour:

Walthour is is considered doubtful after suffering a lower body injury.  He did not play against Vanderbilt and should remain sidelined for Murray State.

Out: OL Isaiah Wilson:

Star right tackle Isaiah Wilson is expected to miss multiple weeks after suffering a lower body injury in practice this Wednesday.  Wilson is a huge part of the Dawgs O-line and thankfully the injury is not too serious, but Kirby will play it safe and likely keep him out for the next couple of weeks.  Look for sophomore Cade Mays to fill Wilsons spot against Murray State.

Out: QB D’Wan Mathis:

Freshman quarterback D’wan Mathis is out indefinitely after undergoing surgery to remove a cyst from his brain this offseason.  There is no current timetable for Mathis’ return.

Out: WR Kearis Jackson:

Redshirt freshman wide receiver Kearis Jackson suffered a broken hand in the 4th quarter of the Vanderbilt game.  Jackson caught a 31-yard pass from Fromm, but fumbled as his hand broken in multiple places when hitting the ground.  Jackson suffered a hamstring injury last season, that ultimately made him take a redshirt.  Expect Jackson to miss 3-4 weeks before entering back into the rotation.uga football, Georgia football, georgia bulldogs, georgia bulldogs football, uga football news, georgia football news, uga football injury report, georgia football injury report, uga injury report, georgia injury report, injuries, uga vs Murray State, georgia vs Murray State, Isaiah Wilson, Jamaree Salyer, ugawire, USA Today
