UGA adding seating for Notre Dame game

On Saturday, Sep. 21, the Georgia Bulldogs will host the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in a battle of two teams who are currently ranked in the top 10 (3 and 7, respectively). Needless to say, this contest is projected to be one of the best of the college football season, and the Georgia Bulldogs are adding seating to Sanford Stadium to accommodate what is expected to be a capacity crowd.

“Notre Dame offered us 8,000 seats (in 2017) when our maximum allotment was 7,500,” Reid Parker Director of Athletics Greg McGarity told Dawgs247 in an interview. “We knew 500 more seats would be like gold to our fans and we wanted to do all we could. So we rolled the dice that we could make it happen on our end and we were able to do that by putting up grand stands in the west end zone.”

It appears as though Sanford Stadium will be even louder than usual for the marquee matchup.
