AHMEDABAD: Admissions to MBBS and medical postgraduation courses are likely to continue till April-end. Two rounds of admissions have been completed so far and 252 seats in post-graduate courses and 500 seats in MBBS are vacant.
The academic sessions of medical colleges in the state began in February, which means that those who get admitted after April will lose out on two months of studies.
The ongoing third round of the all-India quota admission process is likely to be completed by March 30 after which the third round of admissions for the state quota will begin. Sources said that the fourth round of admissions for the state quota can begin only after the fourth round of admissions for the all-India quota concludes. From this year, the Union government has made it mandatory to conduct four rounds of admissions for the MBBS and PG courses so that seats don’t remain vacant and as many students as possible can be admitted.
