UFO hunter claims sighting over Bristol could be 'aliens monitoring lockdown'

The coronavirus crisis has already been linked to a number of wild conspiracy theories but now one avid UFO hunter has taken things up a notch by suggesting aliens could be involved.

Conspiracy theorist Scott C Waring made the claim after a 'sighting' in Bristol was reported to UFO investigation group MUFON in March.

Pictures posted on Mr Waring's blog ET Database show a thin black cloud heading towards the ground, with an eyewitness claiming he saw "a glimpse of a black domed saucer-like object."

The sighting is strikingly similar to one reported in the area of Bath/Yate last month.

Resident Luke Cradock said he saw an unidentified flying object which left a black smoke vapour trail and looked like it was slowly falling.

While Luke was left without any definitive answers, Mr Waring has said such sightings could be proof of aliens exploring the UK while its in lockdown.

He wrote on his blog ET Database: "Here are some great photos of a UFO shooting into the sky from Bristol, UK.

"Its a fantastic example of how UFOs can make clouds! Sometimes UFOs do come down to visit and explore while a lockdown is in place in the UK.

"Maybe someone saw it or frightened it and it shot upward into the sky leaving a smokey trail."

Bristol has had its fair share of baffling sightings in the past but many have a more mundane explanation than a possible alien invasion.

Last year for example, Network Rail bosses spoke out to reassure the people of Bristol that a mysterious blue light being seen at night in the sky over the city was, in fact, a train.
