UFL update 0.65 is live, focusing on gameplay improvements and bug fixes. Shooting has been reworked, with finesse shots feeling more responsive and shot power now tied to positioning and angle. Vertical aiming and ball spin have also been fine-tuned and long shots have been brought more in line with the rest of the shooting system.
A new Dribble Safe mechanic has been added to help players keep control near the touchline and interceptions have been made more active, especially on low passes. Aerial duels lean more in favor of defenders now and pass targeting has been tuned.
The update also tackles a handful of bugs, including player switching issues during free kicks, unresponsive defenders after manual switches and some awkward animations like sliding referees or own goals off goalkeeper deflections. Check out the rest of the patch notes below.
AI ASSIST & BOTS
Attacking Behavior:
- Defensive and midfield lines now position higher up the pitch rather than staying too close to their own goal, with an emphasis on ball progression.
- Improved positioning inside the penalty area — players now try to stay further from defenders and move situationally closer to the ball.
- A central midfielder will no longer make runs into the box for crosses if set to Stay Back in the “Attack Support” instruction.
- AI-controlled players are now better at avoiding collisions with the ball carrier and each other.
- Fixed positioning of wide midfielders when through passes are played to strikers.
Goalkeeper:
- Improved goalkeeper positioning during crosses.
- The goalkeeper now better assesses the speed and direction of the ball carrier when coming off the line or when forced out using the Y/△ button.
- Enhanced goalkeeper movement and positioning during specific types of crosses.
Minor adjustments made to bot attacking behavior to better match expected difficulty:
- Fixed inaccurate shot placement by the bot.
- Fixed unnatural, sharp direction changes by bots on higher difficulty.
- Improved the transition between attacking and defensive behavior — bots now respond more logically to match situations.
- Fixed improper goal kick setups by bot-controlled goalkeepers.
- Fixed an issue where the bot goalkeeper could play the ball towards their own goal.
