UFC superstar shows support for Liverpool and shares unique memory of watching Champions League final

UFC superstar Khabib Nurmagomedov has admitted he enjoys watching Premier League football and in particular Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.

The Dagestan born fighter holds the longest undefeated streak in mixed martial arts with 27 wins to his name.

In an interview with BT Sport the 30-year-old was quizzed on what team he supports.

To which Khabib responded: "I'm not only a fan I think I know very big history on football like (the) English Premier League, for me, is the best league in the world.

"I like Liverpool. I remember when I was a kid in 2005 when I watched Liverpool versus Milan in Dagestan. We had a big screen TV on the pitch, thousands of people were watching this match.

"And they were losing 3-0 and I really believed 'they have to come back, they have to come back' because I liked that team, it was Milan Baros, (Vladimir) Smicer, (John Arne) Riise, (Sami) Hyypia. I remember this. Stevie Gerrard!

"It was a very good team but they have a very good team right now too. I watch all the Champions League matches and Liverpool. But I'm a big fan of Real Madrid."

Khabib, who famously defeated Ireland's Conor McGregor, will step into the octagon once again in September as he takes on Dustin Poirier in the UFC 242 showdown.
