Chris Daukaus, who considered "killing himself" after a string of recent losses, was brutally knocked out in 23-seconds at UFC 282.
Daukaus, 33, was hoping to break a two-fight losing skid at the event in Las Vegas against knockout artist Jairzinho Rozenstruik, but things didn't go to plan for the American. As the fight started Daukaus landed the big first punch, stunning Rozenstruik with a hard right hand but the Surinamese fighter absorbed it well.
Rozenstruik instantly responded by catching Daukuas as he stepped into range with a hard jab, which sent him wobbling into the fence. 'Bigi Boi' wasted no time in trying to hunt for the early finish, landing a right hook and step-in knee to Daukaus as he tried desperately to cover-up.

Daukaus was taking a barrage of hooks from Rozenstruik whilst on the crowd but he managed to get back to his feet and reply with some punches of his own. Circling away from the cage, Daukaus was wobbled by a flurry from Rozenstruik and it was clear the end was near for the heavyweight.
Rozenstruik closed the show by landing a left hook that dropped Daukaus with the referee waving off the fight after just 23-seconds. "We changed a lot of things in training and this is the result, my coaches told me 'don't forgot who you are' and I think i showed who i am tonight," Rozenstruik said after the fight.
It's the third loss in a row for Daukaus, as he was knocked out by Curtis Blaydes in March and Derrick Lewis in December of last year. Speaking before his fight at UFC 282, Daukaus said: "After you lose, the first month and a half I wanted to kill myself because it f****ng sucks. Everyone’s telling me how bad I suck and everyone’s just s****ing on you because that’s what they do. You’re only as good as your last fight and my last two fights have sucked."
The heavyweight is a former police officer in his hometown of Philadelphia, but quit the job so that he could focus on MMA full-time and compete at the top level. Daukaus stood by the decision to retire despite losing his past fights, adding: "I would rather do this, get my a** kicked, and question whether or not I have a job than to go back to the police department."
