UFC star Paddy Pimblett drags Conor McGregor into row with troll Dillon Danis

Paddy Pimblett has accused Dillon Danis of taking a picture of friend Conor McGregor's money to propose a grappling match.

Pimblett is preparing to make his return to the octagon against Jordan Leavitt this summer at the latest instalment of UFC London. Pimblett's profile is continuing to rise due to his trash-talking persona and brash antics during interviews.

He has become of a target of notorious troll Danis who made him an offer on social media, tweeting: "How about we both put up 75k each in escrow and do a grappling match winner takes all, you in?" Danis' post contained a picture with several envelopes of notes which appeared to be thousands of dollars.

Pimblett then hit back quickly in an expletive-laden response, writing: Why are you getting Conor to send you pictures of his money you silly sausage? Stop embarrassing yourself! Why would I grapple with you? I’ll punch your f***ing head in for you if I see you, you soft c***."

Eagle-eyed fans in the comments were quick to point out the photo Danis' used wasn't from McGregor, but in fact taken from an Instagram page named 'Daily Wealth Forever'. McGregor was brought into the row having been a close friend and long-term training partner of the American star.

It seems highly unlikely that any grappling match would take place with Danis having messed with several other high-profile names including his long-term feud with Jake Paul. McGregor is famous for his vast wealth having made a huge fortune from his successful UFC career. He was named the highest earning sporting athlete for 2021 by Forbes and is still generating significant affluence despite not competing in the octagon this year.

McGregor is yet to make his own UFC comeback but has several lucrative options on the table in multiple weight classes. He has previously spoken of his fondness of Pimblett and has teased a meeting in the cage between the pair in the future. "He's a good kid, Paddy. You've got to love the Scousers," McGregor told SecondsOut. "You know my father was born in Liverpool.

"One side of my family is from there. So I've got a lot of love for that part of the world. And who knows? You know, I will never say no to nothing. You know, never say never, as they say." Pimblett is currently in training camp for this third outing in the UFC against Leavitt.

The Liverpudlian has previously stated his plans to become the biggest pay-per-view star since Conor McGregor. "I think I’m going to go 3-0 in the UFC and I’m going to become the biggest box office name they’ve got besides Conor McGregor," Pimblett told ESPN. “Yeah, besides him because he has the name. I know for a fact if I fought him it would be the most box offices sold ever."
