UFC star Nina Ansaroff maintains training regime despite being 23 weeks pregnant

UFC strawweight Nina Ansaroff might be 23 weeks pregnant with her first child, but the American is determined to keep her fitness levels up.

The 34-year-old is currently engaged to Amanda Nunes, the reigning UFC Women's champion at both bantamweight and featherweight, and is due to give birth in September.

Ansaroff announced late last year that she had put her MMA career on hold to start a family, with the American and Nunes announcing the news of their impending baby joy earlier this year.

But despite having not fought in almost a year and being over halfway through her pregnancy, it seems the 34-year-old is determined to remain in good shape.

The strawweight uploaded a clip of herself on a treadmill at home on Wednesday night to her Instagram account, sharing the footage with her 118,000 followers.

The clip, however, should not come as too much of a surprise to Ansaroff's fans after the American previously announced of intention to stay fit while pregnant.

“I’m going to be training throughout my pregnancy. I’m going to stay in shape. I’m not going to not do anything and jump in," said the 34-year-old earlier this year.

“I’ve never had a baby before, so I don’t know what to expect.”

It is thought the strawweight plans to stay out of the octagon for another year after giving birth before embarking on what would be a momentous return to the sport.

And it seems Ansaroff is keen to make that goal a reality with the American continuing to train ahead of giving birth to both her and Nunes' child later this year.

The 34-year-old's last fight before becoming pregnant was in June last year when she was beaten on the decision by fellow American Tatiana Suarez.

Ansaroff's last success came in December 2018 when she beat Claudia Gadelha in Toronto.
