UFC star Molly McCann leads crowd in chant of "F*** the Tories" after KO win

Molly McCann led The O2 crowd in a rendition of "F*** the Tories" after he stopped Hannah Golby at UFC London.

The Liverpudlian, along with teammate Paddy Pimblett, has been an outspoken critic of the government and made her feelings known after her third successive victory in the UFC. McCann made a fast start against Golby and refused to relent, dropping her opponent with a minute of the opening round remaining.

She then forced referee Herb Dean to step in to signal the start of an epic celebration which saw McCann jump out of the cage to be reunited with her team. And once she had officially had her hand raised, she said: "I don't know if I've ever seen this in combat sports in the UK, getting behind a female athlete.

"You working class... everyone who has come for me, I appreciate you. It's those walk-outs, it's that energy that you bring that gets you the finishes. Everyone else on this card who didn't want it as much, they let you down. I will not let you down, I'm not Everton Football Club."

McCann was following up her win over Luana Carolina in March when she finished the fight in the third round with a spinning back fist. She landed the same shot on her way to beating Golby and added: "Have you ever seen lightening strike twice? Well now you have! I think you've seen after the last win I didn't go on a three-month bender, I'm committed to the game."

As she was about the leave the cage, McCann asked the crowd: "Can I just get you to sing one thing. I'm not going to swear..." She then encouraged the crowd to slate the Conservative Party, to which they duly obliged with UFC commentator and former world champion Michael Bisping adding: "I'm going to say I agree with that one"

Earlier this year, McCann hit out at the Government for the impact their policies were having on her city. "The Tory government are destroying my city," she said. "I've got kids and families living on food banks while they're getting f***ing bonuses, then I'm going to have something to say about it.

"When I'm getting taxed what I'm getting taxed I've got a f***ing right to have an opinion on what I want to talk about. I am a socialist, I am labour, do you know what I mean? I am left-wing and I will stand by every single thing."
