UFC star Khamzat Chimaev restrained as he tries to enter cage after team-mate's TKO

Rising UFC star Khamzat Chimaev was held back by security at an MMA event after watching one of his teammates suffer a TKO loss.

Chimaev attended a local MMA show in Sweden to watch one of his teammates fight, but was visibly frustrated after watching him be knocked out, Mirror UK reports.

It's not clear whether Chimaev was unhappy at the referee or the opposing fighter after the stoppage, who walked towards Chimaev's teammate and sat down next to him after the fight.

Chimaev can be seen in video footage of the incident slamming a table in frustration before leaping over a fence to try and enter the cage.

The Swede gets as far as the cage door before multiple security guards stop him in his tracks and escort him back to his seat.

Chimaev is one of the UFC's fastest rising stars and has made a surging journey in the welterweight division since debuting for the promotion last year.

The talented wrestler took up MMA in 2016 after watching Conor McGregor's fight with Jose Aldo and went 6-0 before signing to the UFC.

'Borz' has taken just one significant strike in his four UFC fights, either knocking out or submitting all of his opponents to date in one-sided affairs.

He set a promotional record in his debut year for the fastest consecutive wins and quickest three fight winning streak in modern UFC history.

The No.11 ranked welterweight submitted Li Jingliang at UFC 267 last October in his lone fight of 2021 and will now take on former title challenger Gilbert Burns.

It's a big step up in competition for the Swede, who could be next in line for welterweight champion Kamaru Usman with a win.
