UFC star Conor McGregor's words for sacked Man Utd manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

UFC legendary fighter Conor McGregor has paid tribute to outgoing Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after being sacked from the club this morning.

The board made the decision to part ways with Solskjaer after the humiliating 4-1 defeat to Watford on Saturday.

United had been on a poor run of form, losing five of their last seven Premier League games.

The club had almost seemingly made the decision to sack Solskjaer after their 5-0 defeat by Liverpool on October 24.

Just two weeks later, United would suffer another dismal loss to Manchester City at Old Trafford.

After the Watford loss, though, the club decided to announce his sacking - with Michael Carrick put in temporary charge.

And McGregor, a huge United fan, has had some words for Solskjaer after his departure from the club.

Posting on his Twitter account, McGregor wrote: "I want to give a major shout out, and a huge thank you to the living legend that is Ole Gunnar Solskjær! Ole you are forever, Sir! Icon! Inspiration! Hero! Legend! Thank you Ole."
