UFC star Conor McGregor releases video to admit defeat in latest row

Conor McGregor has ended his row with PJ Gallagher and Paul McGrath by uploading a sarcastic video of himself admitting defeat.

Gallagher, a popular Irish radio host and stand-up comedian, first took a shot at McGregor by sharing a tweet showing UFC broadcaster Laura Sanko mistakenly claim he was a British fighter. The comedian captioned his post: "Normally this kind of thing winds me up but they can have this lad." McGregor labelled his comment as the " heaviest " possible criticism for someone from Ireland.

Former Manchester United and Aston Villa defender McGrath, who is considered to be one of the greatest Irish footballers of all time, then joined in the argument by labelling McGregor as a "bully" for his comments to Gallagher. The UFC star has now ended his feud with both men in a seemingly satire video as he walked onto his private jet.

"That'll do, I'l tell yous what that's the filer that. We're going to call it a day on the PJ and McGrath and all yeah, yous won this round lads yeah fair play to yous have a good one," McGregor said before walking onto his jet. "Lads, yous won this round fair play to yous, catch yous on the flip. I'm gonna bow out and say you know what, I'm going to be the bigger man and bow out."

McGregor was labelled "embarrassing" by fans for mocking Gallagher's mental health in his reply to the comedian, refusing to make peace with him because of the insult. "[PJ] attempted to publicly rally people against me with a disgraceful insult and out of nowhere too, all while being an advocate for mental health in the press. It is the height of hypocrisy. I don’t know him. Never spoke on him once in my life," McGregor wrote.

The former two-weight UFC champion then barred McGrath from any of his pubs and warned him to stay out of his row with McGrath. "Best stay out of it Paul, I bully no one. I just come back at people when they try and bully me. End of. Also you're barred from all of my pubs as well now," he added.

When McGregor's offer of a two-on-one boxing match against Gallagher and McGrath went unnoticed, McGrath's son Mitchell backed up his dad and joined in the argument by welcoming a fight with McGregor. In a now-deleted tweet, the son agreed to fight McGregor on the condition that he would pass a drug test before they stepped in the ring with each other.
