UFC star Conor McGregor provides boastful six-word response to internet riddle

UFC star Conor McGregor has boasted he is "the be all and end all" of MMA after replying to a riddle on Twitter.

McGregor replied with the boast - but has since deleted it - to a tweet which asked fans to "say his name without saying his name".

The former two-weight champion has targeted a return to full contact sparring in April after his horror leg break last July against Dustin Poirier.

He has asked the UFC what date he is fighting lightweight champion Charles Oliveira in his return fight, despite being without a win at the weight class in over five years.

Oliveira has welcomed the fight with McGregor much to the frustration of No.1 contender Justin Gaethje, who the UFC previously said would be next in line for the title.

And MMA analyst Chael Sonnen thinks Oliveira is the opponent McGregor will most likely beat among a stacked roster of talented lightweights.

"If there's anybody that Conor [McGregor] is likely to beat to become the world champion, it is the sitting champion right now," Sonnen said on his YouTube channel.

"Charles Oliveira-Conor McGregor is a fascinating matchup. It is very problematic for Oliveira. Conor McGregor is as good of a striker as this sport has ever seen.

"Oliveira is a very dynamic striker who showed some real wrestling prowess in a couple of contests but in other contests, didn't."

McGregor has found himself ranked at No.9 in the lightweight division after three defeats in his last four fights.

Oliveira - who won and defended the 155-pound title last year - has suggested May as a date for a possible fight with McGregor.

And Sonnen has questioned whether Oliveira is a "high-level guy" whilst adding a fight between the pair makes sense.

"Conor can handle himself on the ground and can certainly handle himself on his feet but the in between has been a huge issue for high-level guys," he continued.

"Is Oliveira really a high-level guy? I don't have the answer for you but I know the fans are in for something incredible.

"Oliveira's plans next do matter particularly when it lines up with the biggest star in the sport. If the champion wants what the biggest star in the sport wants it makes sense to bring these things together.

"Anything in life be very careful what you ask for as you just might get it with Conor. This isn't me being a Conor supporter. I like the guy but I just don't want him to jump in the deep end straight away."
