UFC release spine-tingling Conor McGregor v Dustin Poirier official trailer

As if fans weren't already salivating at the thoughts of Conor McGregor's rematch with Dustin Poirier this month, the UFC have released an incredible official trailer for the fight.

The old rivals are back in the cage on January 23 as they headline UFC 257 in a repeat of their September 2014 showdown, a vicious McGregor KO that accelerated his rise to stardom.

Now over six years later, the pair come face-to-face again as the UFC brand the official trailer 'Ready For War'.

The video focuses on the pair's original rivalry as tensions heated ahead of their Las Vegas bout, in particular how McGregor seemed to agitate the American.

It then shows McGregor's first round finish as well as a montage of what the Notorious one has gone on to achieve inside the Octagon.

But as fans know, that McGregor loss proved a turning point for Poirier too as the American went on to win ten of his next 12 fights, excluding a no contest with Eddie Alvarez along the way.

And with both grabbing hold of UFC gold along the way, things have come full circle again as the two find themselves within reach of a title shot.

It comes after Dana White has told Jake Paul that he is considering "letting Amanda Nunes knock his ass out".

Paul recently made unpleasant comments about Conor McGregor and Dee Devlin in a video posted online.

The YouTube star also criticised the UFC President in the clip, which has been viewed more than seven million times in three days.

Speaking in the video, Paul said: said: “My team sent you a $50 million offer this morning – $50 million cash, proof of funds – the biggest offer you’ve ever been offered. But you’re still scared to fight me, Conor. You’re ducking me ‘cause you don’t want to lose to a f***ing YouTuber.

"You’re 0-1 as a boxer. I’m 2-0 as a boxer. I just came off the eighth biggest pay-per-view event in history, but you want to fight Dustin ‘Prober’ who has less followers on Instagram than my f***ing dog – that’s a fact."

He added: “Conor, you’re scared. Dana, you’re scared. Sign the f***ing contract, you idiots. Jesus f***ng Christ...Irish b****...f*** these guys.”

Responding to the video, White told TMZ: “I’m thinking of letting Amanda Nunes knock his ass out.”

And the two-weight UFC champion appears to be up for the bout.

Reacting to White's comments, she tweeted: "I'm in."
