UFC president Dana White 'would love' Tyson Fury to make a switch to MMA

UFC president Dana White has said he would love to see WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury make a move to MMA and compete in his promotion.

Undefeated boxer Fury, who stopped Deontay Wilder in the seventh round of the pair’s WBC title rematch last month, has spoken in the past about the possibility of crossing over into MMA, and trained with Liverpudlian UFC middleweight Darren Till last year.

Fury also claimed to have spoken to Conor McGregor about the idea of training together – something McGregor later denied – and told White late last year: “Call me.”

White has now responded, telling TMZ: “I’m interested in the future of Tyson Fury in all combat sports.

“I’m excited to see him no matter where he goes. If he wants to fight in the UFC, I would love it. I’m excited to see what’s next for him in boxing.”

White also praised Fury’s performance against Wilder, while critiquing the latter for blaming his defeat on the weight of his entrance costume.

“The reason he lost is because Fury is a bad-ass boxer and he fought the perfect fight that night and executed his game plan,” White said.

Fury is unlikely to find time for an MMA bout in the near future, with a trilogy fight against Wilder seemingly set for 18 July and a potential unification fight with Anthony Joshua possibly following that.
