UFC president Dana White to speak at Thursday’s Republican National Convention

UFC president Dana White will once again show support to his friend Donald Trump ahead of the upcoming U.S. presidential election.

On Thursday, White will stump for Trump at the Republican National Convention in the same manner he did back in 2016.

According to the RNC website, “a small number of Republican leaders will be physically present in Charlotte, N.C., but most of the convention will be virtual.” It’s unknown if White’s speech will be delivered in person or online.

White has long hailed Trump for helping the UFC survive in its early dark days. When most were turning their nose up at the sport, Trump allowed UFC events to take place at his Atlantic City, N.J., casinos. White hasn’t forgotten that and has vocalized his support for Trump many times over the years.

In August 2018, White and then-UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington visited the White House in Washington for a tour and photo-op. At UFC 244 in November, Trump was seated cageside for the event at Madison Square Garden in New York.

White also spoke at a Trump rally in February, and now the UFC boss will again step into the public eye to offer his backing.
