PRAGUE – MMAjunkie was on scene and reporting live from today’s early and official UFC on ESPN+ 3 fighter weigh-ins, where two fighters failed to hit their required mark.
The early weigh-ins took place at the UFC host hotel in Prague and precede the ceremonial weigh-ins for the fans, which take place at 11 a.m. ET at O2 arena in Prague, Czech Republic. The same venue hosts Saturday’s event, which streams on ESPN+.
Among those weighing in were light heavyweights Jan Blachowicz (23-7 MMA, 6-4 UFC) and Thiago “Marreta” Santos (20-6 MMA, 12-5 UFC), who meet in the main event. Both fighters made weight without issue.
The same could not be said for Klidson Abreu (14-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC), who weighed 209 pounds for his light heavyweight contest with Magomed Ankalaev (9-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC), or Diego Ferreira, who was 157 pounds for his lightweight matchup with Rustam Khabilov (23-3 MMA, 9-2 UFC). Both fighters were fined 20 percent of their purse, but the fights will go on as scheduled.
