The UFC handed out four $50,000 bonuses Wednesday at UFC on ESPN 20 from Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, and one omission raised eyebrows.
Ike Villanueva picked up his first UFC win with a one-punch, walk-off knockout of Vinicius Moreira in their heavyweight bout.
With his back potentially up against the wall, Villanueva (16-11 MMA, 1-2 UFC) landed a massive overhand right early in Round 2 that floored Moreira. The knockout was so devastating, Moreira spun around because of the punch. Still, and perhaps surprisingly, it wasn’t enough to earn a bonus.
