UFC lightweight rankings in full ahead of Tony Ferguson vs Justin Gaethje at UFC 249 this weekend

The UFC returns this weekend as Tony Ferguson faces Justin Gaethje in Florida.

El Cucuy was scheduled to face Khabib Nurmagomedov for the lightweight belt last month, but the undefeated Russian pulled out of the bout due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Gaethje stepped in to face Ferguson for the interim belt, but the April 18 show was then cancelled and has since been rearranged for this weekend.

The action on the night could have a big effect on the UFC rankings and particularly the lightweight division.

Ferguson is currently the man directly behind champion Nurmagomedov in the rankings, with Dustin Poirier next before Conor McGregor and Gaethje.

Donald Cerrone is also still high on the list despite his 40-second loss to McGregor earlier this year and he faces Anthony Pettis on the undercard of UFC 249 this weekend.

Here's the lightweight rankings in full:

Champion - Khabib Nurmagomedov

1 - Tony Ferguson

2 - Dustin Poirier

3 - Conor McGregor

4 - Justin Gaethje

5 - Dan Hooker

6 - Donald Cerrone

7 - Paul Felder

8 - Charles Oliveira

9 - Al Iaquinta

10 - Kevin Lee

11 - Edson Barboza

12 - Diego Ferreira

13 - Gregor Gillespie

14 - Islam Makhachev

15 - Alexander Hernandez
