UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov reveals support for Man City – a day after Man United visit

Khabib Nurmagomedov was at Anfield 'rooting' for Man City during their 2-2 draw with Liverpool.

The UFC legend was in the crowd for the thrilling encounter, which saw a stunning solo goal from Liverpool's Mohamed Salah before Kevin De Bruyne equalised for City.

Khabib watched the game with City's Oleksandr Zinchenko, who missed the encounter due to injury.

An Instagram reel shared by Khabib showed him in a packed crowd inside the stadium, while videos showed him talking to Zinchenko as Liverpool celebrate scoring.

His Instagram stories appeared to show him travelling from London to Liverpool by helicopter ahead of kick-off.

In a post on Instagram which showed a video of the Manchester City left-back, Khabib wrote: "It was amazing atmosphere today, but the game was even better. Today I was rooting for @mancity. I just love this sport."

And the post didn't go unnoticed by fans.

His visit for Anfield came just a day after United welcomed the UFC star to Old Trafford.

He was presented with a United No. 7 shirt and was seen chatting to club legend Sir Alex Ferguson ahead of their 1-1 draw with Everton.

He also posted about his Old Trafford visit on Instagram, where he wrote: "It’s a great honor to visit this legendary stadium, by invitation of the legendary football club @manchesterunited Thanks for warm welcome.

"I hope @cristiano and @davidbeckham wouldn’t mind that I got number 7.

"I’m not going to take a loss in this T-shirt, cause I will hang it on the wall in the frame, at most visible place in my house."

But fans weren't impressed at UFC legend Khabib's apparent switch of allegiances.

Here's what they had to say on social media.

@Mula_Tom: "Khabib is so funny, yesterday united fan today Man City."

@just__a__panda: "I thought Khabib supported United."

@Fodenszns: "Khabib was supporting united yesterday wtf."

On Saturday Patrice Evra also shared a photo of himself, Sir Alex, Usain Bolt and Khabib at Old Trafford with the caption: "People who really love @ManUtd."

Alongside a picture of Khabib holding his No. 7 shirt, United tweeted: "Welcome to Old Trafford, Khabib."

In the game, Anthony Martial scored his first club goal since February before it was cancelled out by a fine Everton break involving Demarai Gray, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Andros Townsend, who replicated Cristiano Ronaldo’s famous celebration after firing past David De Gea.
