Conor McGregor is not quite the fighter he used to be as he gears up for a UFC return next year.
That's according to Octagon legend Georges St-Pierre, who thinks thats his stop-start career in recent years has caused him to lose his edge.
After fighting multiple times per year on his way to becoming at two-weight champion in November 2016, the Dubliner has only fought in the UFC four times in almost five years and lost three of those bouts.
And after a second defeat in a row to long time rival Dustin Poirier, St-Pierre reckons the Dubliner shouldn't fight Poirier for a fourth time as the Louisiana contender 'has his number'.
“I think if he comes back, if I’m Conor McGregor — or maybe not Conor because he’s a very proud fighter — if I’m his manager, I don’t want my client to come back to fight the same guy again for the fourth time,” St-Pierre said on Wednesday’s episode of The MMA Hour.

He added: “Because now it seems like Dustin has his number.
“He needs to perhaps take another fight.
“I think he should come back and maybe fight Nate Diaz or someone else that has a different style than Dustin Poirier, because styles make fights and I have the feeling that now Dustin Poirier probably has his number right now.
“Conor has been out for a long time. He needs to get back in there to spend more time in the octagon in order to find his own self, the way he moves and his abilities. It seems like he might have lost some of his ability due to his inactivity.”
