UFC Fight Night 222 post-event facts: Sergei Pavlovich makes history with first-round KO streak

The octagon was back in the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on Saturday for UFC Fight Night 222, and a new heavyweight contender emerged from the main event.

Sergei Pavlovich (17-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) made history when he recorded a modern company record sixth consecutive first-round knockout, this time against his most decorated opponent to date in fellow contender Curtis Blaydes (17-4 MMA, 12-4 UFC).

Events stats

The UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance payout for the event totaled $181,500.

Debuting fighters went 0-1 at the event.

Pavlovich, Bruno Silva, Christos Giagos and Montel Jackson earned $50,000 UFC Fight Night 222 fight-night bonuses.

The UFC sold VIP tickets to fans for UFC Fight Night 222, but the promotion did not make public the total number of tickets sold or the gate.

Betting favorites went 3-7 on the card. One fight ended in a no contest.

Betting favorites fell to 7-6 in UFC headliners this year.

Total fight time for the 11-bout card was 1:45:56.

Pavlovich’s six-fight UFC winning streak in heavyweight competition is the longest active streak in the division.

Pavlovich has earned 15 of his 17 carer victories by stoppage. He’s finished all 15 of those wins by knockout.

Silva (23-8 MMA, 4-2 UFC) has earned 20 of his 23 career victories by stoppage.

Silva has earned all 20 of his career stoppage victories by knockout.

Silva’s four knockouts since 2021 in UFC middleweight competition are the most in the division.

Brad Tavares (19-8 MMA, 14-8 UFC) has suffered all three of his career stoppage losses by knockout.

Ricky Glenn (22-7-2 MMA, 4-4-1 UFC) suffered the first knockout loss of his career.

Jackson (13-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) has earned eight of his 13 career victories by stoppage.

Jackson’s four-fight UFC winning streak at bantamweight is tied for the third-longest active streak in the division behind Aljamain Sterling (eight) and Merab Dvalishvili (eight).

Jackson is one of eight fighters in UFC history to earn a knockdown in six consecutive fights.

Rani Yahya (28-11-1 MMA, 13-5-1 UFC) suffered his first knockout loss since Dec. 19, 2009 – a span of 4,881 days and 20 fights.

Dumont’s four victories in UFC women’s featherweight competition are tied with Cris Cyborg for most in divisional history.

Dumont has earned all five of her UFC victories by decision.

Karol Rosa (16-5 MMA, 5-2 UFC) has suffered both of her UFC losses by decision.

Francis Marshall (7-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) had his seven-fight winning streak snapped for the first defeat of his career.

Danaa Batgerel’s (9-5 MMA, 3-4 UFC) three-fight losing skid is the longest of his career. He hasn’t earned a victory since October 2021.

Batgerel has suffered both of his career stoppage losses by knockout.
