UFC Fight Night 188 video: Bruno Silva floors Victor Rodriguez with mean straight right

Bruno Silva sure made a good case for a fight night bonus on Saturday.

The Brazilian put away Victor Rodriguez just one minute into their flyweight bout on the preliminary card of UFC Fight Night 188 in Las Vegas.

Silva (12-5-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) connected with a knee to Rodriguez (7-4 MMA, 0-2 UFC) early in the round, which stunned the Mexican fighter. From there, Silva threw a mean straight right hand that sent Rodriguez straight to the canvas. It was a quick night at the office for Silva.

Check out the finish in the video below (via Twitter):

The former LFA champion is now on a two-fight wining streak after having a rough start in the UFC. Silva joined the organization in late 2019. He suffered a loss in his debut, which later was overturned to a no contest. Silva would then lose his next two bouts by decision, just to bounce back with two stoppage victories.

Silva called out fellow flyweight Rogerio Bontorin, who picked up a win last week at UFC 262.

“I want to fight Bontorin from Brazil,” Silva said. “He just fought last week. Let’s fight, bring them hands. I’m ready.”
