Manon Fiorot will get an opportunity to crack the UFC women’s flyweight top 10 when she meets a former title challenger.
Fiorot is set to take on Jessica Eye at the UFC’s March 5 event, which doesn’t yet have a publicly known venue or location.
Two people with knowledge of the matchup informed MMA Junkie of the booking but asked to remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.
Unbeaten in the UFC, France’s Fiorot (8-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Mayra Bueno Silva at UFC Fight Night 195 in October. Since losing her professional debut, Fiorot has won eight consecutive fights with six finishes.
After winning three of four, including decisions over Katlyn Chookagian and Viviane Araujo, Eye (15-10 MMA, 5-9 UFC) has dropped three straight. The former title challenger is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Jennifer Maia at UFC 264 in July. Eye was scheduled to face Andrea Lee on Nov. 13 but withdrew because of an illness, which hospitalized her.
