UFC announcer Bruce Buffer introduces fighter from Tbilisi as 'Georgia, USA'

Bruce Buffer had a bit of a nightmare live on air this evening when introducing a fighter.

The UFC announcer was introducing Liana Jojua, who is from Tbilisi in Georgia.

Republic of Ireland fans will be more than familiar with the country having played them in various qualifying campaigns.

But unfortunately for Buffer, he seemed to mix up the country for the state of Georgia in America.

When introducing Jojua, he said: "Fighting out of Tbilisi, Georgia, USA."

And his mistake didn't go unnoticed, with plenty of UFC fans quick to mention it on Twitter.

One said: "Did Bruce Buffer say "Tsiblisi, Georgia, USA" ?!?! Georgia is it's own country."

Another added: "Loooool Bruce Buffer just announced Jojua as being from "Tbilisi, Georgia, USA."

Someone else commented: "Did buffer really just say “fighting out of Tbilisi, Georgia, USA!!??” Lol."

Jojua went on to lose the fight by TKO to Canada's Sarah Moras.
