EA Sports UFC 5 is marking 20 years of The Ultimate Fighter with the release of the TUF Anniversary Alter Egos today. Players now have the option to fight as Carla Esparza (TUF 20), Kelvin Gastelum (TUF 17) or Michael Chiesa (TUF 15).
The update also adds Stephan Bonnar (2005) as the latest Alter Egos: Legends fighter, honoring his memorable performance in the Season 1 finale and his place in the UFC Hall of Fame. Each of these fighters can be unlocked through in-game purchases or by completing specific challenges.
-
Carla Esparza (TUF 20 Finale, 2014) – In a historic season that established the UFC strawweight division and crowned its champion, Carla Esparza came out on top, submitting future champ and rival Rose Namajunas in the third round to take the TUF trophy and divisional belt.
-
Kelvin Gastelum (TUF 17 Finale, 2013) – From last pick to last man standing. Kelvin Gastelum defied the long odds, tore through the competition, and faced off against a legitimate bogeyman in Uriah Hall for the TUF 17 championship. In a close, contentious affair, Gastelum took home the victory and kickstarted an all-action UFC career.
-
Michael Chiesa (TUF 15 Finale, 2012) – On his way to taking the TUF 15 crown, Michael Chiesa smothered and steamrolled each name unlucky enough to get in his way. “Maverick’s” dominant grappling was on full display when he snatched the TUF trophy with a first round submission over “Ragin’” Al Iaquinta.
-
Stephan Bonnar (TUF 1, 2005) – One half of the fight that is credited with saving the Ultimate Fighting Championship, the late Stephan Bonnar went to war with eventual winner Forrest Griffin at the finale of Season 1 of The Ultimate Fighter. The blood and guts bout captivated audiences around the world and cemented Bonnar’s place in the Hall of Fame.
