UFC 296 video: Leon Edwards, Colby Covington make weight for welterweight title fight

LAS VEGAS – Saturday’s UFC 296 main event title fight is official after the welterweights made weight Friday.

Ahead of UFC 296, which takes place Saturday at at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, welterweight champion Leon Edwards (21-3 MMA, 13-2 UFC) and challenger and ex-interim champ Colby Covington (17-3 MMA, 12-3 UFC) stepped on the scale at the official weigh-ins.

Covington, who sounded hoarse likely from the weight cut, weighed in under the welterweight championship limit at 169.5 pounds. Minutes later, Edwards took the scale and hit 170 pounds exactly.
