Mickey Gall and Mike Malott have been paired up.
A welterweight bout between the two fighters is on tap for UFC 273, which takes place April 9. A location and venue have not yet been set.
Two people with knowledge of the matchup recently informed MMA Junkie of the booking but asked to remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.
Gall (7-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) looks to get back into the win column after a unanimous decision loss to Alex Morono in December. Since his 2016 win over Sage Northcutt, Gall has alternated losses and wins.
Malott (7-1-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) won back-to-back fights en route to a Dana White’s Contender Series opportunity in October 2021. In 39 seconds, Malott submitted opponent Shimon Smotritsky with a guillotine choke to earn a UFC contract from the promotional brass. Malott is the brother of Winnipeg Jets prospect Jeff Malott.
