ABU DHABI – After the UFC 251 weigh-ins took place Friday, so too did fighter faceoffs, and MMA Junkie was on the scene.
In the main event of the title-fight triple header, Jorge Masvidal (35-13 MMA, 12-6 UFC) steps on six days’ notice to challenge welterweight champion Kamaru Usman (16-1 MMA, 11-0 UFC). In the co-main event, Max Holloway (21-5 MMA, 17-5 UFC) rematches Alexander Volkanovski (21-1 MMA, 8-0 UFC) looking to reclaim the featherweight title. And in the featured bout, a new bantamweight champ will be crowned as Jose Aldo (28-6 MMA, 10-5 UFC) takes on Petr Yan (14-1 MMA, 6-0 UFC) for the vacant title.
All six men made weight, as well as fighters from the other two main-card bouts, while two preliminary fighters missed, but no fights were canceled.
