MELBOURNE, Australia – The UFC 243 main event is official after Robert Whittaker and Israel Adesanya made weight for their middleweight championship unification bout.
At today’s UFC 243 weigh-ins, which saw the ceremonial-style proceedings serve as the official session, as well, the champion Whittaker hit 185 pounds on the scale, while interim titleholder Adesanya came in just under at 184 pounds.
After making weight Whittaker (20-4 MMA, 11-2 UFC) and Adesanya (17-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) had a final staredown, and with that, the fight is set.

UFC 243 takes place Saturday (Sunday locally) at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN2 and ESPN+/UFC Fight Pass.
