‘UFC 242 Embedded,’ No. 1: Hero’s welcome for Dustin Poirier in Abu Dhabi

The UFC’s ninth pay-per-view of the year takes place Saturday with UFC 242, and the promotion’s popular “Embedded” series returns to get you ready.

UFC 242 takes place at The Arena at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FX and UFC Fight Pass/ESPN+.

In the main event, lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov (27-0 MMA, 13-0 UFC) takes on interim champ Dustin Poirier (25-5 MMA, 17-4 UFC) in a title unification bout. In the co-main event, lightweight strikers and fan-favorites Edson Barboza (20-7 MMA, 14-7 UFC) and Paul Felder (16-4 MMA, 8-4 UFC) go toe-to-toe.

On Episode 1 of UFC 242 Embedded, interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier gets a hero’s welcome and a billionaire’s ride when he lands in Abu Dhabi. Co-main event stars Edson Barboza and Paul Felder arrive, excited for their upcoming rematch. Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov trains, surrounded by an expanded team that includes his father and lifelong coach. UFC 242 Embedded is an all-access, behind-the-scenes video blog leading up to the lightweight unification bout taking place Saturday, September 7th at a special time of 2 pm ET/11 am PT.
