UFC 234 winner Jalin Turner wants another fight before birth of next child

MELBOURNE, Australia – Jalin Turner is hoping to get another fight in within four months or less after emerging victorious at UFC 234.

Turner (8-4 MMA, 1-1 UFC) scored a brutal 53-second knockout of Callan Potter (17-8 MMA, 0-1 UFC) at UFC 234 on Saturday, giving him his first octagon triumph. He asked to fight again soon, and said he has good reason for doing so.

“Anything before June,” Turner said after UFC 234. “I’ve got a baby due in June, so anything before then. Let’s get another (pay)check.”

UFC 234 took place at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia. Turner’s victory over Potter in their lightweight bout streamed on UFC Fight Pass prior to televised prelims on ESPN and the pay-per-view main card.

After suffering a rough knockout defeat of his own in a short-notice fight against Vicente Luque at UFC 229 in October, Turner dropped down to 155 pounds where he is more comfortable and showed what he’s all about.

That was exactly the plan, he said, and not he hopes a chance to show more comes up very soon.

“Like I said, I feel like this was supposed to be my UFC debut. This is how I wanted to come out. A vicious victory. I’m on top of the world right now.”
