Uefa are prepared to reduce the number of host cities for the rescheduled European Championship if necessary, according to president Aleksander Ceferin.
Euro 2020 was originally scheduled to take place in 12 cities - Amsterdam, Baku, Bilbao, Bucharest, Budapest, Copenhagen, Dublin, Glasgow, London, Munich, Rome and St Petersburg - across Europe from 12 June to 12 July, only to be postponed until next summer in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
11 June to 11 July 2021 is the proposed new schedule for a tournament that will still be known as Euro 2020, though it could be that the number of host locations is trimmed between now and next summer.
Speaking to Bein Sports, Ceferin said that three of the host cities were currently experiencing problems that need to be addressed, with Uefa willing to stage the competition in fewer cities if required.
"We've had conversations with nine cities and everything is set," Ceferin said. "With three cities, we have some issues. So we will discuss further.
"In principle, we will do it in 12 cities but if not, we are ready to do it in 10, nine or eight."
