UEFA president makes end of the season admission that will impact Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham

UEFA do not know the finer details of how the Premier League season will end.

That is the message from president Aleksander Ceferin.

In a meeting last week the 20 Premier League clubs all agreed that the 2019/20 campaign should be finished, although the season was suspended indefinitely until it was safe to do so.

Euro 2020 has been put back to 2021, with suggestions that club football could return in June or July, with the remaining games played in a short space of time before the 2020/21 season gets under way in August.

But there is no set plan for when football does resume, with plenty of theories doing the rounds.

And Ceferin admitted he himself does not know the solution.

Speaking to Slovenian publication Ekipa24, he said: "We will be ready for such scenarios, but we are not working on the details of them right now," he added.

"Currently we are completely focused on bringing the competitions to the end on the fields of play."

But Ceferin did offer hope that the season would come to a conclusion one way or another, by admitting that he "can't see a way" where Liverpool would not be crowned champions of England.

He added: "I can't see a way Liverpool could be left without a title.

"If the Premier League resumes play, Liverpool will almost certainly win the title. Theoretically it's not all over, but practically Liverpool are on the verge of it.

"If by any chance the play will not resume, we still have to find a way to declare final results, to declare champions.

"And again I cannot see, I cannot imagine a scenario, in which the champions would not be Liverpool."
